Professor Rino Choi's team at the 3D Nanohybrid Semiconductor Research Center, which is performing the university-focused research laboratory project of the Ministry of Education, has recently developed the first domestic generator and storage device for liquid nitrogen.

Professor Rino Choi's team is the only one in the country with extreme low-temperature refrigeration technology and produces its own extreme low-temperature vacuum pump for use in semiconductor displays. The team collaborated with Cryo and AI Co., Ltd., which also develops and produces extreme low-temperature vacuum pumps, to jointly develop the liquid nitrogen generator and storage device.

Professor Choi said, "The joint development of the liquid nitrogen generator and storage technology not only has the potential for use in nitrogen, but also has a very high industrial potential for hydrogen liquefaction, which is essential for the realization of the hydrogen economy." He added, "It is important to note that the development of this technology in collaboration with Cryo and AI Co., Ltd., a consortium company of the 3D Nanohybrid Semiconductor Research Center, demonstrates the positive aspect of industry-academia collaboration."
